Sea of Thieves co-developer Radical Forge has unfortunately had to let go of a few employees due to restructuring in order to navigate the current challenging market.
Based in Middlesbrough, UK, this indie studio was established in 2017 and has worked on popular games such as Gang Beasts, Rust: Console Edition, and Zombie Army 4. In 2020, they released their first original game called Bright Paw, a murder mystery narrative-puzzler.
In a recent statement, Radical Forge expressed their sadness over the situation, stating that a few roles are no longer necessary for their current and upcoming projects. However, they are dedicated to supporting those affected and helping them find new opportunities.
Despite the restructuring, Radical Forge assured that their ongoing projects will not be impacted. They are currently focusing on the development of Southfield, a physics-based farming game set to be released soon on Steam Early Access. Additionally, they will be self-publishing Southfield, thanks to funding from the Private Division development fund.
