Former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra recently voiced his thoughts on Xbox’s identity crisis, stressing that the company needs to clearly define its path forward. When a follower inquired about how Xbox should pivot, Ybarra boldly suggested that it should embrace being a publisher rather than being focused on console manufacturing. “It’s simple to me,” he remarked, emphasizing that Xbox should aim to be “the world’s largest publisher of entertainment content.” His advice? “Get rid of everything else and get focused. Do not be afraid to say what you are. Embrace the lane.”
