With distribution channels seemingly unavailable in Slovenia, the owner of the Ljubljana-based video game shop Konzolko opted for the unconventional route. Instead of waiting for shipments, he hit the road, determined to fill his car with as many Switch 2 consoles as possible.

Sharing his plan on the Slovenian forum Mn3njalnik, the retailer expressed concern about the potentially perilous journey. “If I end up in trouble, my customers will be my last concern,” he stated, highlighting the lengths he went to in securing the consoles. “They’re already paid for.”

While he didn’t disclose the exact number, it’s estimated that up to 325 Switch 2 units could fit in his vehicle. After his epic haul, he assured customers that a fresh stock would last through the summer, alleviating fears about shortages.

The Risk and Reward of Early Sales

Upon returning to his store with “half a ton” of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, he faced an interesting dilemma. When questioned about the possibility of selling the consoles early, he replied, “Officially, I doubt it.” He acknowledged the risk of running afoul of Nintendo’s regulations. “I’m sure I’d be disinherited.”

He expressed caution, noting that every piece of equipment is serialized and carefully tracked by Nintendo. “They brag that they can disable the device via remote,” he remarked, underscoring the meticulous oversight the company maintains.

While he’s cautious about early sales, he might look into hosting a demo on launch day. Fans can expect the official delivery a day before the release, creating a tantalizing buildup for eager gamers.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for launch on Thursday, June 5, alongside a lineup of exciting titles. First-party games like Mario Kart World, and new editions of existing favorites like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will debut alongside the new console.

Third-party titles set to launch include heavy hitters like Cyberpunk 2077, Street Fighter 6, and the much-anticipated Hogwarts Legacy. With this stellar lineup, the excitement for the Switch 2’s arrival has reached a fever pitch.
