Insomniac Games accidentally unlocks debug tools for players in the latest Spider-Man 2 update.

The new Version 1.002.000 update, released today, introduces a New Game+ mode with exciting features. Players can now surpass the game’s level cap, unlock stylish symbiote suits, and upgrade gadgets with golden designs. Additionally, they can replay missions and adjust the time of day after completing the game.

However, players quickly discovered that the update also granted access to the game’s debug menus. These menus are typically used by developers for testing and making modifications during the development process. Some players have even found references to unreleased missions involving the character Beetle, who has yet to make an appearance in the game.

It’s important to remember that not all content or references found in a game’s files will necessarily be used in the final product. Insomniac Games has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix to remove access to the debug menu. They have warned players that using the debug tools could potentially lead to save file corruption and issues with trophy progress.

In a statement on their official X account, Insomniac reassured players that there is no risk associated with playing the game as intended and advised against using the debug menu until the hotfix is released.
