Starfield Beta 1

GRAPHICS

Added support for AMD FidelityFXTM Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3). (PC)

  • In this update, we have added support for the AMD FidelityFXTM Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3) technology on PC. This feature enhances the graphics quality and provides a more immersive gaming experience for players using compatible AMD devices.

Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS). (PC)

  • Furthermore, we have also included support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) technology on PC. This feature leverages the power of Intel Xe GPUs to enhance the visual fidelity of the game, resulting in sharper and more detailed graphics.

Fixed an issue that could make the clouds appear to vibrate when using DLSS performance mode. (PC)

  • We have addressed a bug that caused the clouds in the game to appear to vibrate unnaturally when players were using the DLSS performance mode. This fix ensures a smooth and realistic cloud rendering experience, enhancing the overall visual quality.

Fixed minor visual artifact that could occur when aiming with a weapon or task swapping.

  • Moreover, we have resolved a minor visual artifact that could occasionally occur while aiming with a weapon or when swapping between tasks. This fix eliminates any distracting graphical glitches, providing a seamless and immersive gameplay experience for players.

STABILITY

Changed how FormIDs are freed when loading saves. This should improve stability for saves that have visited many locations.

  • To enhance the stability of the game, we have implemented a change in the way FormIDs are freed when loading saved games. This improvement specifically benefits players with heavily explored game saves, ensuring a smoother and more reliable overall gameplay experience.
  • Fixed a crash that could happen when making changes to the ship that required all items to be moved to the cargo bay in the Ship Builder menu.
  • We have resolved a critical crash issue that occurred when players attempted to make changes to their spaceship that required moving all items to the cargo bay in the Ship Builder menu. This fix prevents the game from crashing and ensures players can modify their ships without any technical hiccups.

MISCELLANEOUS

Reverted a change that caused the data menu to open when taking screenshots with F12 (PC)

  • We have reverted a previous change that unintentionally caused the game’s data menu to open whenever players attempted to take screenshots using the F12 key on PC. This fix eliminates any unnecessary disruptions during gameplay and allows players to capture their favorite moments without any interruption.

Fixed an issue causing the resolution scale to reset to 1.0 when switching from Fullscreen to Windowed mode when using DLSS. (PC)

  • Lastly, we have resolved an issue that caused the resolution scale to reset to 1.0 whenever players switched from Fullscreen to Windowed mode while utilizing DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) technology on PC. This fix ensures that the chosen resolution scale remains consistent across different display modes, providing a seamless transition without any loss in graphical quality.
