State of Decay 2 will be available on Steam sometime next year, and will join the Valves market with Gears 5 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection as Microsoft Game Studio titles.

The release date for 2020 is shown on the Steam page of the game. Andead Labs announced yesterday that the Steam version supports cross-platform Xbox Live gaming, as well as the version available in the Microsoft Store for Windows 10.

The first State of Decay was released exclusively for Xbox / Windows in 2013, but was (and will be) sold on Steam. Microsoft acquired Undead Labs last year, shortly after the launch of State of Decay 2 in May 2018.

In May, Xbox boss Phil Spencer announced that Microsoft plans to expand its offerings for competing digital businesses following the announcement in March that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available on Steam and the Microsoft Store. Gears 5 was launched at both locations in early September.

Undead Labs announced that there will be more details in a livestream on Monday at 18:00. EUROPEAN SUMMER TIME.
