Street Fighter 6 Hits 5 Million Sales Milestone
The gaming scene just got electrified: the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Street Fighter 6 has propelled the iconic fighting game past a staggering 5 million units sold, according to Capcom.
This title made its debut in 2023 on major platforms like PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam, quickly becoming a must-have for fighting enthusiasts. Its launch coincided with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, where Street Fighter 6 was one of the standout titles, alongside Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.
Now, with the Switch 2 edition, this entry in the legendary franchise has secured its place as the 16th highest-selling title in Capcom’s history and the second best-selling installment in the Street Fighter series. Only Street Fighter 5 can claim more, with just under 8 million units sold.
DLC Excitement Continues
Capcom isn’t hitting the brakes anytime soon. They’ve just confirmed a robust lineup of DLC content for Year 3, keeping the momentum alive with new characters. This year, players can expect to see fan-favorites like Sagat, C. Viper, and Alex making their grand entrance, followed by Ingrid slated for early 2026.
The excitement peaked over the weekend with the release of the final DLC character for Year 2, Elena. Her arrival synced perfectly with the much-anticipated launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its Street Fighter 6 port, which encompasses all fighters from the first two years.
