On December 9th, the Project Red developer CD will support Gwent: The Witcher Card Game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As of December 9, there will be no updates, enhancements, real money purchases or matchmaking support. An update will “freeze Gwent in its current state”. CD Project Red said both versions of the limited-functionality console will remain “up and running” by June 9th.

CD Projekt Red announced that it will continue to support Gwent’s PC and mobile versions – according to the developer, the most popular platforms for the game. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players can copy the progress of their account over a six-month period (from December 9 to June 9) if they want to transfer accounts to another platform.

Gwent was launched on iOS in September and an Android port is coming soon. CD Project Red said in today’s announcement that it’s unbelievable that it “can support a growing number of different versions of Gwent while improving feature parity between them.”

“When we launched Gwent’s console versions in 2017, we wanted to give console players the same level of support as their PC counterparts,” said CD Project Red. “After launching Gwent on iOS and the upcoming Android release, the number of Gwent’s supported platforms. “

On December 9th, console players can begin transferring their account information – ornaments, Meteorite Powder for Xbox One players, currencies, cards, decklists, levels, ranks, Thronebreaker rewards, and contracts – to console accounts on GOG accounts. CD Project Red noted that accounts are not “merged” but copied, which means that Gwent’s progress can only be moved to GOG accounts that have not yet played Gwent.

(PlayStation 4 players can transfer anything except meteor powder used for crafting.) CD Project Red did not say why, except for the transfer of PlayStation 4 to GOG is “not possible.” If you have meteor powder, you have I want to spend it before you transfer, otherwise you lose it.)

Players have six months to transfer their accounts.
