Diana, Princess of the Amazons is the latest series of DC Comics graphic novels for the younger set and looks terribly cute.
Diana is the only child on an island of immortal adults and feels that nobody really understands her. She takes a page from her mother’s book and makes herself a friend out of sand and clay. But is your new clay friend really such a good influence? And what is the connection between her and Doom’s Doorway, the gateway to the underworld of the monsters?
The new book, which hits the shelves on January 7, was written by Shannon and Dean Hale’s husband-wife team with art by Victoria Ying. Shannon Hale is the award-winning author of YA fantasy novels like Princess Academy and Book of a Thousand Days and has written a handful of graphic novels with Dean Hale, including The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Squirrel Meets World and Rapunzels Revenge. Ying has a long family tree of the two children’s books and a more serious job than that of the Nib.
All in all, it’s a great team to work on a coming-of-age story about Wonder Woman before she was Wonder Woman. You can see for yourself in this exclusive 10-page preview of DC Comics.
