Nacon Reveals New Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Details

During a live stream on Wednesday, Nacon revealed a host of new details about Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.

Game Delay

Firstly, the publisher confirmed recent reports that the game has suffered another delay.

Originally announced in 2020, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown was scheduled to release in September 2022 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

However, last May, Nacon announced that the game had been delayed to 2023 and that the PS4 and Xbox One versions were canceled. The game will now be released in early 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The status of the Switch version is currently unknown.

Closed Beta Announcement

In more positive news, the game’s first closed beta will take place on July 24 and last for three days. To participate, players can sign up to the Test Drive newsletter for a chance to join.

Solar Crown Gameplay

During the live stream, the first Solar Crown gameplay was showcased. Alain Jarniou, creative director of development studio KT Racing, started the demo by showing how players begin new games in the Solar Hotel. In the hotel, players have their own rooms, can view their progression, and can meet up and group with other players.

He was then joined by fellow developers and content creators to demonstrate racing and social features.
