The bird-centered skateboarding game Skatebird comes to Nintendo Switch

The skateboarding game Glass Bottom Games, Skatebird, is coming to the Nintendo Switch in late 2020, according to an announcement during the Nintendo Indie World event.

The developer launched on June 11, 2019 a kickstarter for Skatebird, which was fully funded just a day later. Skatebird ended with $ 67,220 in funding from supporters, well above the original target of $ 20,000.

Players will control colorful skateboarding birds in “bird-sized parks” of curvy straw, staples, cardboard and tape. Glass Bottom Games said the game also has an original low-fi soundtrack with a few clothes, mixtapes and “birches that need your help” in the skate parks.

Skatebird will also be released on Windows PCs via Steam and itch.io, according to Kickstarter.

It looks like Skatebird will be a delightful match for Victoria Smith’s Toripon, which was released on the PC last week. Toripon is a pixelated game to take pictures and relax in an apartment full of birds. It comes closest to Pokémon Snap in 2019.
