The Elder Scrolls: Legends has been closed

The Elder Scrolls: Legends, the entry of Bethesda Softworks into the genre of card fighters, is virtually complete. The game’s community manager yesterday told players at the official Subreddit of Legends that development is over, canceling Bethesda’s announcement for Legends at the E3 2018 console launch.

Bethesda’s Christian Van Hoose described the decision as a kind of moth-battleship in which “any new development or release is put on hold indefinitely”. This also means that the set of cards promised in The Elder Scrolls: Legends’ April development roadmap has also been canceled. Legends’ online and single-player modes remain playable, and Bethesda will support the online game with monthly rewards and events in the game, Van Hoose said.

Last summer, Bethesda dismissed the original Dire Wolf Digital development studio and commissioned Sparkypants Studios with the project. At the time, spokesman Pete Hines said Bethesda was not dissatisfied with Dire Wolf’s performance, but considered Legends “a lot of untapped potential.” The game was announced in 2015 and released after a public beta phase on Windows and Apple PCs in March and May 2017, followed by Android and iOS editions. The Elder Scrolls: Legends newest addition, Jaws of Oblivion, was released in September 2018.

As a gift to players, each time they log in to The Elder Scrolls: Legends, each player will receive the “Tamriel Collection”, a selection of cards with three attributes and more, for free.
