The Finals Update 1.4.1: Detailed Path Notes and Game Updates
Aim Assistance
1. Zoom Snapping Angular Velocity Cap:
- To address an issue with unintended rapid 90-degree turns during gameplay, we have implemented a maximum cap on the Zoom Snapping Angular Velocity. This fix ensures that players no longer experience sudden and abrupt turns, allowing for more controlled and smoother movement.
2. Reduced Camera Magnetism:
- In order to enhance player aim precision and provide a less sticky aiming experience, we have decided to reduce the Camera Magnetism from 50% to 35%. This adjustment results in lower controller accuracy, enabling players to have more control over their aim and making responsiveness more consistent.
3. Decreased Zoom Snapping Time:
- To optimize the gameplay flow and provide a better user experience, the Zoom Snapping Time has been reduced from 0.3 seconds to 0.25 seconds. This means that players will experience a faster transition into the zoomed-in state when using specific weapons, allowing for quicker and more fluid aiming.
4. Removal of Zoom Snapping from Certain Weapons:
- After careful consideration, we have decided to remove the Zoom Snapping feature from the SR-84 Sniper Rifle, Revolver, LH1, and all Shotguns. This adjustment is aimed at creating a more balanced and fair gameplay environment, as these weapons were receiving a larger benefit from the Zoom Snapping feature compared to others.
5. Aim Assist Fix for Invisible Players:
- We have addressed a bug within the existing aim assist system that was causing it to mistakenly detect and assist with aiming at invisible players. This fix ensures that aim assist will now accurately identify visible players, resulting in a more reliable and fair gameplay experience.
6. Aim Assist Restrictions for PC Players with Key Re-mapping Programs:
- To provide a level playing field for all players, we have implemented a change that restricts access to aim assist for clients running key re-mapping programs on PC. This adjustment aims to prevent any unfair advantages that could arise from altering key mappings while still benefiting from aim assist.
- By implementing these changes and fixes, we aim to enhance the overall gameplay experience, promote fair competition, and ensure a balanced environment for all players in The Finals.
