Ninja Turtles: almost 40 years old!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are rather young compared to other comics licenses, since they will only celebrate their 40th birthday next year. Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laid, these turtles are not quite like the others.

Fallen into a mutagenic substance, they are collected by a rat, Splinter, who decides to also dive into the substance to take care of the four turtles. Through different mutations, these five characters become anthropomorphic, gaining human cognitive abilities and dexterity along the way. Splinter, ninja master Hamato Yoshi’s pet rat, takes it upon himself to raise torties and teach them martial arts.

Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo set out to fight the crime and the enemies of their master. Several series have emerged, there is a ten feature films, role-playing games have been published and, of course, a good package of video games the most recent being the very good Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu.

The Last Turtle Screams vengeance

Last March, the rumor of a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, based on the hugely popular comic book series called The Last Ronin, appeared. A brief appearance, relatively solid, but which hadn’t caused more of a stir than that. However, it turns out that this game does exist: it is called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, and was announced by THQ Nordic during its annual conference, of which on will also retain South Park: Snow Day.

Few images and information at the moment, but the game would be a triple A oriented action-RPG, in the vein of what the recent God Of War offered. The story will be inspired by the forgotten graphic novel in 2020 in which the Turtles of this parallel universe are killed, with the exception of a single. The latter strongly marked the spirits carat the beginning, on does not know the identity of the surviving turtle, which abandons son colored mask for a black mask symbolizing the spirit of vengeance.

As you will have understood, the game will be dark, and should allow players to use the weapons of all Ninja Turtles. No release date has been revealed, but on knows it’s the studio Black Forest Games (Destroy All Humans!) who is in charge, and that it will come out on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
