The outer worlds have DLC plans for next year

For those who like The Outer Worlds but really want it to take longer: Good news! Story-based downloadable content is on the way in 2020.

The social media manager at Obsidian Entertainment released the message as a thank you to the players for their support in being named Game of the Year, Best Performance, Best Role Playing and Best Narrative at The Game Awards 2019 on Thursday evening.

But the teaser didn’t mention what exactly the DLC will affect. The word “free” was not used, but doesn’t sound like it’s premium? In any case, the Outer Worlds started in late October, and while fans have been thinking about it in forums, subreddits, and the like, Obsidian has said nothing about DLC yet.

“Details will be provided at a later date,” said Obsidian. No time slot was mentioned, but The Outer Worlds will be released on Nintendo Switch sometime before March 31. Perhaps this is also the case at this time.

We enjoyed The Outer Worlds and appreciated the compactness, but we understand why some RPG fans – especially obsidian RPG fans – were let down a little with an estimated game time of 20 hours. Regardless of that time, the Outer Worlds ranked 7th in our 50 best games of 2019.

To be very clear, Obsidian says that this DLC “will expand history”. So it’s not just about cosmetics, equipment, or things that can be used in the existing world and history.
