Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is even happier now. The first season of the latest Call of Duty game began on Tuesday morning and includes three more maps, numerous Spec Ops missions, new weapons and skins, and the game’s first Battle Pass.

The new maps of Modern Warfare are Crash, Vacant and Shipment. Each of the three cards is a remake of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and can be played in any standard multiplayer mode of the game. This season, there are also a few new Gunfight cards, Cargo, Atrium and more.

The beginning of the first season of Modern Warfare also means that the game gets its first raid. With the Battle Pass, players can unlock new items and cosmetics by gaining experience in the game. The passport comes with content worth 100 levels that players can unlock. While most Battle Pass rewards require players to buy them to unlock them, 23 of the Battle Pass levels are free to anyone playing the game. These free ranks include the two new weapons – the RAM-7 assault rifle and the lightweight Holger-26 machine gun – which Infinity Ward released as part of the first season.

The first season brings three new game modes in Modern Warfare. Reinforce, a game mode that first appeared in Call of Duty: Ghosts, is a limited respawn mode in which teams compete against each other to capture flags. When players die, they remain dead until their team has captured one of the flags, allowing them to reappear. The new Gunfight OSP mode will make 2-on-2 mode more interesting by forcing players to find scattered weapons on the map. In the meantime, Infected Mode turns a player into a zombie who has to infect the other players to hide and survive.

Call of Duty: The Season 1 Patch from Modern Warfare is now available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. No patch notes were released with the update. So it seems that this patch did not bring any gameplay changes.
