The Pokémon Company has announced a new digital Pokémon Trading Card Game experience called Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, set to release on iOS and Android devices in 2024.
Developed in collaboration with Creatures Inc. and DeNA, this game will allow users to open two packs of digital cards for free each day. While details about the payment model are still unclear, it is expected to include in-app purchases.
Creatures Inc. president and CEO, Yuji Kitano, promises a game with immersive cards and streamlined rules for quick battles. However, fans hoping for NFTs to be included in the game may be disappointed.
The Pokémon Company has stated that they have not developed or approved any NFTs related to the Pokémon brand. Any NFTs featuring Pokémon IP are unofficial and not affiliated with the company.
Despite this, The Pokémon Company has shown interest in blockchain and NFT technology. While this does not confirm any plans for Pokémon NFTs or blockchain games, it signals their willingness to explore new technology in the future.
