Peacock Releases New Trailer for Twisted Metal TV Series
Peacock has unveiled a thrilling new trailer for the highly anticipated Twisted Metal TV series. Starring Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Brave New World), the show is set to premiere in the US on July 27, with each episode running for 30 minutes.
About the Series
Twisted Metal offers a fresh take on PlayStation’s popular vehicular combat series. The show is executive produced by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the talented writers behind the Deadpool films and Zombieland. Michael Jonathan Smith, known for his work on Cobra Kai, writes and executive produces the series as well.
According to Peacock’s official synopsis, the story revolves around “a motor-mouthed outsider who is given a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”
The series follows our protagonist as he teams up with a fearless axe-wielding car thief to confront savage marauders in their destructive vehicles. Along their journey, they encounter various perils of the open road, including a psychotic clown who drives an eerily familiar ice cream truck.
Talented Cast
Twisted Metal features an impressive ensemble cast, including Anthony Mackie, Will Arnett (Arrested Development), Samoa Joe (AEW), Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3), Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and Neve Campbell (Scream).
PlayStation Productions
This is the second TV series produced by PlayStation Productions, following the successful adaptation of The Last of Us earlier this year.
The Twisted Metal TV series arrives ahead of an exciting reboot of the Twisted Metal video game. AsumeTech exclusively reported last year that the game is currently in active development at Sony’s Firesprite studio, after being moved from the original developer, Lucid Games.
