In the final step in the live streaming community, several popular streamers have signed exclusive multi-year contracts to stay with Twitch.
Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo, Saqib “LIRIK” Zahid and Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar have signed all contracts to stay with Twitch for the next few years. All three streamers had great success with Twitch and grew into some of the platform’s biggest channels. Lupo and Betar have both been on the platform since 2012, while Zahid started streaming on Twitch in 2011.
This news comes amid some high-profile departures from Twitch, including streamer such as Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, who joined Mixer with Mike “Shroud” Grzesiek, while streamers like Jack “Courage” Dunlop from Twitch have streamed exclusively to YouTube. Dunlop, Blevins and Grzesiek are all represented by the talent agency Loaded, which also represents Lupo, Zahid and Betar. Other celebrities, such as Super Smash Bros. streamer Zero and Teamfight Tactics and Hearthstone streamer Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang, have recently signed exclusive contracts with Facebook Gaming.
With so many high-profile runs, signing these three streamers is a statement from Twitch that it is also committed to preserving some of its most beloved personalities. As part of their continued partnership with the platform, all three streamers will continue to participate in Twitch’s gaming events and tournaments.
