Unity has recently announced their new CEO, Matthew Bromberg, who previously worked at Electronic Arts and Zynga. He will be taking over from interim CEO Jim Whitehurst, and will work alongside former CEO John Riccitiello, who is now the executive chair of Unity’s board.
Bromberg has a strong background in the gaming industry, having served as the group general manager of BioWare and overseeing EA’s mobile business. He then went on to work as the chief operating officer at Zynga before joining Unity.
In his statement, Bromberg expressed his excitement about joining Unity and working with the team to provide the best platform for creators to develop games and experiences for players worldwide. He also mentioned his goal of accelerating the company’s revenue growth and profitability.
The transition in leadership at Unity comes after some controversy within the development community regarding the company’s monetization plans. Despite this, Unity continues to make strides in the industry and is set to release their first quarter 2024 financial results on May 9th.
