Last night at the Game Awards, host Geoff Keighley gave me the best gift I could ever ask for. Something so adorable that I did not even know I needed it: an untitled goose game and a Muppet labs crossover.
Untitled Goose Game is a slapstick stealth game from the indie studio House House, which achieved mainstream success earlier this year. Everyone loves the goose. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker from The Muppet Show appeared on stage to award the Games for Impact award. Previously, however, they showed their perfect collaboration with Untitled Goose Game. Beaker put on a very cute Muppet-sized VR headset and wandered aimlessly through the world of the Untitled Goose game. That’s how the Untitled Beaker game was born.
Unfortunately, this game is not real. Not real at the moment.
As the lavish mock-up played live last night, Beaker wandered through the opening levels of Untitled Googe Game to be chased away by the grumpy shopkeeper of the game. Beaker bends unknowingly out of an alley around a corner and bumps into the goose – the terrible goose – that terrorizes the poor little Muppet I just want to hug.
It was very cute. And look, even the Death Stranding star Norman Reedus and the director Hideo Kojima liked it. Look at that smile. Norman is excited.

Later, a goose Muppet appeared in the real world and came on stage to cause more chaos. As you might have guessed, this too was gratifying. It was easily the best moment of the night. I’m not a Muppet connoisseur or anything, but the Muppet Labs crew is now officially my number one, overtaking the Swedish cook. I do not make any rules here.
I think the internet agrees.

What I’m saying is: Make a cup game without a title, you cowards.
