WolfEye Studios was founded earlier this year by Arkanes former creative director Raphaël Colantonio and former executive producer of arcane Julien Roby. Her credits include outstanding games like Prey and Dishonored. At The Game Awards, the new company showed its first game, Weird West, tonight.
It’s a stylish top-down role-playing game set on an alternate American frontier populated by supernatural creatures and wild-west standards like gunslingers and lawyers. Not much is known about the game. It has an XCOM look, but is referred to by the company as an action RPG. A trailer showed shoot-outs from above in a salon and a yard, as well as strange priestly characters, a werewolf and a scary guy with a jute mask.
A statement by WolfEye said that players can “form a group or get on their own” and that “every journey is unique” in the game. Weird West is published by Devolver Digital. No information about platforms or release dates yet.
