The Countdown to New PS Plus Games Has Begun!
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are eagerly anticipating the reveal of the latest game lineup for July 2025. Sony is set to make this exciting announcement at 4:30 PM BST on July 9.
Mark your calendars! Most of these titles will be available for download from July 15. However, it won’t be all laughs; Sony is also pulling six PS4 and PS5 games from the PS Plus Extra library, aiming to deliver a stellar lineup that can stand tall against the competition from Xbox Game Pass.
Heavy Hitters Leaving the Platform
Among the notable games disappearing this month is the beloved Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Joining it on the chopping block are titles like Dying Light 2: Stay Human and the critically acclaimed Remnant 2. Other titles set to vanish include Job Simulator, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, and Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord.
On a brighter note, Sony has already confirmed that classic vehicular combat games Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal 4 will be available for Premium subscribers starting July 15. To top it off, a brand-new day-one release, Abiotic Factor, joins the lineup on July 22.
What Could Be in Store?
In anticipation of the big reveal, fans have taken to Reddit to speculate on potential additions to the PS Plus Extra lineup. Many subscribers believe that Mortal Kombat 1 might make the cut on July 15. With the upcoming release of Resident Evil Requiem, titles like Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village are hot picks among fans.
As the football season has wrapped up and with EA FC 25 still a few months away, there’s speculation that it might make an appearance on the service. Talk of The Crew Motorfest, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage has also sparked interest. Furthermore, popular titles like Atomic Heart, Hades, Lords of the Fallen, Pacific Drive, and various Yakuza/Like a Dragon games are being considered for this month’s lineup.
