Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ), the annual charity speed running marathon, has returned to its 10th anniversary livestream this year. The starting signal is given on Sunday, January 5th, at 11.30 a.m. EST and lasts all week until Saturday, January 11th. The entire schedule can be found on the official website. However, here you will find our tips for the coming weeks.
What is a speed run?
For the uninitiated, speed running is the art of moving through a video game as quickly as possible. There are a number of ways to run a run, from “100%” (gameplay, start to finish) to “any%” (reaching the end of the game by any means possible). The scene contains even more opaque terms, most of which you can find in a handy online glossary.
What is AGDQ?
AGDQ is hosted by Games Done Quick, an organization dedicated to fundraising. Over nine years, including the popular Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ), has raised over $ 22.3 million. Last year’s AGDQ was the most successful event ever, bringing the Prevent Cancer Foundation a whopping $ 2.39 million.

Highlights
Sunday, January 5th:
- It is an early must on the first day Binding of Isaac’s afterbirth, StoneAgeMarcus will try the challenging title from 5:09 p.m. EST and will aim for an hour and 20 minutes from start to finish.
- This run will be followed at 6:49 p.m. EST with a running time of approximately one hour Super Mario Bros. 3,
- From 12.28 p.m. EST, a huge myst block begins that evening. Start with . realMyst: Masterpiece Edition, Runners switch to Riven: The sequel to Myst and Myst 3: Exile early morning.
Monday, January 6th:
- The Fallout Anthology, published in 2015 in an artificial nuclear warhead, starts at 5:20 p.m. EST with runner tomato angus. You will give it a try Fail. Fallout 2. Fallout 3: game of the year. Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition. and Fallout 4 Back to back in just over two hours.
- The outer worlds, which has experienced a lot of speed running action since its release, will be played for a 20 minute period starting at 7:35 p.m. EUROPEAN SUMMER TIME. The% run is probably focused on being a big dummy to save time.
- Sigil, the unofficial sequel to downfall (1993) by the original creator Jon Romero, is set at 8:05 p.m. EUROPEAN SUMMER TIME. Runner KingDime will try to do it in less than 17 minutes. A 100% run of follows downfall (2016) on the difficulty level “Nightmare” at 9:17 p.m. EUROPEAN SUMMER TIME.
Tuesday, January 7th:
- At 11:52 am EST Diverse garden is due The stunning puzzle game, which has been developed for years, opens up in less than 14 minutes.
- The entire Legend of Zelda series on NES and SNES – included The legend of Zelda and The legend of Zelda: a connection to the past – Get a three and a half hour block. Played as a season, the fun begins at 8:21 p.m. EUROPEAN SUMMER TIME.
- From midnight, Tojju, Muttski and Luzbelheim embark on a nine-hour journey Final Fantasy 8, Any% co-op relay will play on PlayStation 2.
Wednesday, January 8th:
- The highlight here is the Mega Man Block. A total of 14 different runners take part in this relay and shoot through Mega Man 4. Mega Man 5, and Mega Man 6 in two hours.
Thursday, January 9th:
- This year it will be strange with a novelty Fate 2 Speedrun. Shockwve, The Packle, Milkman, Tokeegee, Traderkirk and Alexy Sinclair give it a try the last wish raid, all encounters, in less than 45 minutes. The experiment begins at 8:20 p.m. EUROPEAN SUMMER TIME.
- This is followed by the very observable BioShock blown from the blood. % Execution should take less than an hour and begin at 11:20 p.m. EUROPEAN SUMMER TIME.
- After all, there is a quiet co-op run by Wolfenstein: young blood at 12:30 p.m.
Friday, January 10th:
- If you are up at 5:55 am EST, you can watch any run of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines by Valvinraim. Expect this run to highlight many of the game’s unusual bugs and quirks.
- There is also a very challenging flawless run from VVVVVV at 9:26 am EST, followed by a run of Celeste, In total, both runs including set-up time should run in less than an hour.
- Finally there is a 45 minute run from Dark souls set to 12:26 p.m. EST.
Saturday, January 11th:
- Later that morning, at 1:21 p.m. EST, we’ll see control Run for the first time during a GDQ event. The runner Bryonato should start in about an hour and 15 minutes.
- Notice Guitar hero? There is a community-created freeware version called Clone Hero, and FrostedGH will listen to music for 45 minutes from 1:09 p.m. EUROPEAN SUMMER TIME. It will be interesting to familiarize yourself with this game and to learn more about its development and hardware compatibility. LT_Humphrey will be on the microphone to help us interpret.
- Unnamed goose game gets its own slot towards the end. Like Control, this will be its first appearance at a GDQ event. Expect all main tasks to be completed in less than 25 minutes. The stream starts at 5:44 p.m. EUROPEAN SUMMER TIME.
