WWE 2K25 on Switch 2 Promises Major Gameplay Enhancements

The Exciting Launch of WWE 2K25 on Switch 2

Get ready, wrestling fans! The much-anticipated WWE 2K25 is set to hit the Switch 2 later this month, with a confirmed release date of July 23. This latest installment from 2K promises to bring a thrilling new experience tailored for Nintendo’s latest console.

Unlike previous versions, WWE 2K25 will come in three unique editions, just as seen on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. This time around, players will have access to The Island, an open-world mode currently exclusive to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. This boost in gameplay options aligns the Switch 2 version more closely with the current gen, rather than its predecessors like the PS4 and Xbox One.

This latest game iteration doesn’t skimp on fan-favorite modes either. Players can dive into the 2K Showcase, featuring compelling storylines driven by the Bloodline. Additional modes to explore include MyFaction, MyRise, Universe, the Creation Suite, and MyGM, ensuring a rich and engaging gaming experience.

What’s New for Players

To fully unlock the bonus content and online features—such as DLC offerings and the exciting MyFaction mode—an internet connection will be essential. However, players rejoice! Many modes will still be accessible offline, making it perfect for on-the-go gaming when Wi-Fi isn’t handy.

Fans eager to snag a copy can pre-order the Standard Edition, which includes the Wyatt Sicks pack, added with five playable superstars. For those looking for something more substantial, the Deadman Edition boasts the Deadman Edition Bonus Pack, featuring iconic characters like Mattel Elite “Greatest Hits” Undertaker, along with some intriguing in-game items. The Bloodline Edition takes it up a notch, including all content from the previous editions paired with the Rock Nation of Domination Pack and others that are sure to enhance gameplay.

Both the Deadman and Bloodline Editions come with a Season Pass, granting access to five waves of exciting DLC superstars that will keep the action fresh long after launch.

WWE 2K25 marks a pivotal return to Nintendo consoles after the mixed reception of WWE 2K18 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds. Those earlier titles faced criticism for performance issues—WWE 2K18 was infamous for bugs and sluggish gameplay, leading to a dismal Metacritic score of just 35 on Switch.

With the additional power that Switch 2 brings, 2K is aiming to restore the series’ prestige on Nintendo platforms. Gamers can anticipate a more polished and enjoyable experience, closely resembling what current-gen systems offer.

The improvements across modes promise to elevate WWE 2K25 beyond its predecessor. While the new Island mode has its share of criticisms, the game still packs enough punch elsewhere to keep players engaged for months.
