Microsoft surprised everyone with the unveiling of the next generation home console named Xbox Series X, and aside from the name, our first look at the console itself and the announcement of Senuas saga: Hellblade II has revealed some more details about the system and the company his controller.
The Xbox Series X has four times the processing power of the Xbox One X and uses a custom AMD processor with the “latest generation Zen 2 and RDNA architecture”. The system of course supports 4K and 60FPS, but can handle 8K and 120FPS. According to Microsoft, developers can also use the X Series GPU with Variable Rate Shading (VRS).
In addition, Microsoft offers the Xbox series with VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto-Low Latency Mode), which are currently available on the Xbox One.
From a physical point of view, the system can be oriented horizontally or vertically – none of which seems to affect the cooling opening of the system above.
The controller has been slightly redesigned in size and shape to accommodate more people. In the middle a special release button has been added. The D-Pad is a new one, similar to the Elite Series 2 controller.
The controller is compatible with the X-Series backward compatibility feature and works with both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. The new controller comes with the console.
