Gas prices go up in Europe after blocking the Russian pipeline

Natural gas prices in Europe rose again on Wednesday after a delay in the approval process for a major new gas pipeline from Russia, which German government sources say will delay its operation until March next year, according to “Reuters”.

Increased delays in the approval process in line Nord Stream 2 pipes fear that Europe, Which gets a third of its gas needs from Russia, it could face electricity shortages this winter due to scarce supplies.

The contracts record of gas in Europe increased 8% to € 101.60 per megawatt hour by 13:30 GMT.

The contract gained nearly 60% in November, although still well below the peak of € 155 reached on 6 October.
