German industrial production declined more-than-expected in March, according to official data shown on Friday, as restrictions imposed to fight the Corona virus pandemic and the war in Ukraine have disrupted supply chains, making it difficult to fulfill orders.
The Federal Statistical Office said industrial production fell 3.9% month-on-month after a revised downward 0.1% increase in February.
A Reuters poll indicated a 1% drop in production in March.
German industrial production increased more than expected in October, even if the bottlenecks in the supply of materials prime and intermediate goods continued to undermine production in Europe’s largest economy.
