LONDON: England’s Premier League football club Aston Villa announced on Thursday the dismissal of manager Steven Gerrard after a bad start to the season and finished 17th in championship after 11 games. The dismissal came shortly after Aston Villa lost 3-0 to Fulham in English Premier League, today. Fulham’s goals were scored by Harrison Read in the 36th minute, Aleksandar Mitrovic in the 68th minute with a penalty and Aston Villa’s Tyron Mings, an own goal in the 84th minute. ‘Aston Villa in 62 minutes Fulham raised their tally to 15 points in nineteenth place and Aston Villa’s balance stopped at nine points in seventeenth place. “We would like to thank Stephen for his hard work and commitment and wish him well for the future,” said Aston Villa. in a brief statement on their site web.
