In Gotham Knights’ accessible four-player co-op mode, Heroic Assault, the Bat Family will face a Justice League foe and a new cosmic threat.
Heroic Assault is a mode in Gotham Knights that lets you play as a villain. The villain has essential ties to the Justice League. In the main storyline of Gotham Knights, the Bat Family fought mainly against the League of Shadows and Court of Owls after Batman died. In side missions, they also had to deal with Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, and Clayface, among others. In the four-player Heroic Assault mode, announced in October, players will fight enemies on 30 floors.
The official Gotham Knights Twitter account revealed that Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin would take on Justice League enemy Starro the Conqueror in the four-player co-op mode Heroic Assault. A promotional poster shows the mind-controlling Star in a holding tank, and a subsequent tweet shows Wonder Woman, aka Diana Prince, sending an email to the “Knights of Gotham” about how dangerous Starro is to their city. Batman Arkham Videos also posted a picture of the new trophies and achievements. One of them is for beating Starro and getting rid of his “cosmic threat.”

Why Starro is a great choice in Gotham Knights: Heroic Assault
Starro the Conqueror is a huge alien starfish that came to Earth intending to take over all life and turn people into mindless, enslaved people through mind control. He is often a threat that the Justice League, DC’s main superhero team, has to face. Mind control and mental manipulation played a role in the primary campaign of Gotham Knights. For example, Harley Quinn’s implant chips turned innocent people into her minions, and the ending of Gotham Knights showed how Talia al Ghul planned to use the Lazarus pits to control Bruce Wayne after bringing him back from the dead. Even though the new achievements show that Harley and Talia are coming back, and the promotional poster shows Starro being held, it is unlikely that the Star Conqueror will do what a human wants.
Heroic Assault should be hard for the Bat Family, what with Starro the Conqueror’s power set and the return of Gotham Knights’ already hard boss fights. With the release of Gotham Knights Heroic Assault today, it won’t be long before players can work together to see what WB Games Montréal has planned for its version of the classic Justice League enemy.
