He also confirmed in a daily briefing posted on his Twitter account today Saturday that Ukraine has recaptured large areas of Kherson province on the west bank of the river and that its forces now have in much control of the city.

Furthermore, he suggested that Russia was still trying to evacuate its forces from other areas of the province across the river to defensive positions on the eastern bank.
Yesterday, Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the completion of the transfer of its forces to the eastern bank of the Dnipro, noting that there were no units or equipment left.
‘Painful blow’
Interestingly, this withdrawal has dealt a severe blow and has shown a serious setback for the Russian military, especially as it is the first major Ukrainian city to fall into its hands since the outbreak of the conflict on February 24.
It also forms, together with Donetsk, Lugansk and Zaporizhia, the four regions whose annexation the Kremlin announced at the end of September (2022).
In addition, its geographical location is of particular importance, as the region lies on the borders of the Dnipro-Petrovsk and Nikolaev regions and has a land border with Crimea to the south, while facing the Black Sea to the southwest and in southeast from the Sea of Azov.
