Guardiola: Our relations with Paris have been fierce

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola praised his side’s cohesion after another impressive performance in the 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain to secure a place in the Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday.

City, which reached the final last season, moved into the Champions League knockout stage for the ninth consecutive year after beating the French side despite the absence of top talent like Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden.

“We pressed hard and faced a very dangerous opponent with great potential well,” said Guardiola. We had a really good game, our possession was aggressive, defending well and above all maintaining our style.

He added: “What gives us consistency is the way in which we performed and the performance it was perfect and the audience enjoyed watching us play and we hope this continues as long as possible. “

The City, second in Premier League with 26 points in 12 games, West Ham United hosts fourth on Sunday.
