Hindrances in Offensive Performance and Fasting’s Impact: Regragui’s Reflection on Peru Match

Morocco’s national football team drew 0-0 against Peru during an international friendly in Madrid, prompting Coach Walid Regragui to express his disappointment at the lack of offensive effectiveness from his team. The Atlas Lions managed to secure a 2-1 victory against Brazil in a friendly match on Saturday, but struggled to penetrate the Peruvian defence during the game. Morocco played in the absence of two injured players, Paris Saint Germain defender Ashraf Hakimi and Marseille’s Ezzedine Onahi. Qatar’s Al Rayyan winger Sofiane Boufal was on the bench while the two Osasuna wingers on loan from Barcelona and Toulouse, Abdel Samad Al Zalzouli and Zakaria Abu Khallal, played two essential roles. Boufal’s red card for hitting Peruvian defender Carlos Samprano off the ball after hard intervention by Samprano further hindered Morocco’s offensive gameplay.
