Horizon: Call of the Mountain gets a gold rating

Fans of Horizon have had a busy few months, with rumours of new games and a Zero Dawn remake, as well as the recent leak of a Horizon multiplayer game. Guerrilla Games and Firesprite announced today that their upcoming game Horizon: Call of the Mountain has gone gold and will be released on February 22, 2023, at the same time as the PSVR2 headset.

For those who don’t know, a video game has “gone gold” when development is done and the game is ready to be published and sold.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain was first announced at CES 2022 as a launch title for the PSVR2 headset. It is a virtual reality (VR) game set in the Horizon universe made only for the PSVR2 headset.

The game combines the PSVR2’s ability to make you feel like you’re there with the Horizon games’ huge, scalable landscapes. The Sense controllers’ haptic technology shows physical tension and weight.

With the launch of the PSVR2 headset in just two weeks, there are already a lot of new and updated games that can be played with it right away.

Check out what the PlayStation team thought of Horizon: Call of the Mountain and Resident Evil Village on the PSVR2 to better understand what it’s like to play these games.
