HQ Trivia shuts down after three years
Mobile trivia app HQ Trivia is shutting down, according to a report from CNN.
The live trivia app, developed by Vine developers Colin Kroll and Rus Yuzupov, was relatively popular when it released in 2017, appealing players real money for utilizing the app, and responding to concerns at a particular time two times a day. Users would divide $250 amongst themselves, with incomes then provided to their PayPal. The app reached a record high in users at 2.38 million on March 28,2018
.
The game dealt with a problem with bots and, apparently, appeal ultimately blew over. HQ continued to look and upgrade the app for fascinating methods to keep trivia heads thinking about playing, like HQ After Dark, an adult-oriented version of thegame The app was moneyed by collaborations with big business like Warner Bros. and Nike, promoting motion pictures for the former and handing out HQ- themed shoes for the latter. The business made layoffs in July 2019, after striking financial problems.
Even if HQ Trivia is gone, we’ll keep in mind the weeks when pals would gather together at 3 p.m. to attempt to play.
