IATA calls for avoidance of return travel restrictions

The International Air Transport Association – ‘IATA’ said many countries were moving to impose measures on travelers from China, despite the spread of the virus within its borders.

He added that it was very disappointing to see this sudden return of measures that had proven ineffective over the past three years.

IATA has stressed that governments should heed the advice of experts, including the World Health Organization, who advise against imposing travel restrictions, because the necessary tools are in place to manage Corona without resorting to ineffective measures that disrupt communication international, harm economies and destroy jobs.

The number of countries imposing conditions on travelers from China has risen to more than 17 countries, some of which have decided to bar travelers from China from entering.

This comes after China decided to open its doors to travellers in exit despite the increase in coronavirus cases in recent weeks.

Airlines lost tens of billions of dollars in 2020 and 2021 to the pandemic, but air travel is seeing a recovery that some airports are having a hard time keeping up with.
