‘I’m still employed, unlike some’ Simon Cowell aims brutal dig at Piers Morgan's GMB exit

Piers Morgan, 56, has revealed that Simon Cowell, 61, didn’t hold back when they reunited at the the Derby recently. The stars, who worked together on both Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent, saw each other for the first time in a while, due to lockdown, at Epsom Races alongside their partners, Celia Walden and Lauren Silverman.

Speaking about their meeting, Piers admitted Simon didn’t hesitate in mocking him over his exit from Good Morning Britain.

Piers left the ITV show in March after his explosive rant about Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey sparked 57,000 Ofcom complaints.

Simon cheekily brought the incident up to a waitress at the glamorous event, saying “This is Piers, he used to be on TV,” while the outspoken journalist ventured into his suite.

However, Piers was quick to fire back at the music mogul, adding: “I did, yes.

After hearing that the show has reportedly been looking for a female presenting partner to join Susanna Reid, Piers quipped he would have to identify as a woman to “appease the woke brigade” in order to get his job back.

He penned: “Good Morning Britain’s tumbling ratings have plunged to their lowest ever level as just 451,000 people tuned in to Wednesday’s show with comedian Adil Ray sitting in my old chair.

“Newspaper reports today suggest ITV want Susanna Reid to have a female presenting partner to stop the rot.

“If it appeases the woke brigade, I’m prepared to identify as a woman to get the ratings back to the peak of 1.9million where I left them.”
