The players of the Indian cricket team started their training from Tuesday to prepare for the first match of the four-match Test series to be held with India from Friday. Team India Head Coach Ravi Shastri welcomed the entire team with an encouraging speech. The team then started their practice at the nets to prepare for the series.

On Monday, they were allowed to do outdoor training after both teams came to the Corona Test negative. The Indian team did their first outdoor training on Monday evening after the completion of the quarantine period.
Captain Virat Kohli and fast bowler Ishant Sharma have also joined the Indian team returning from Australia. Kohli was on paternity leave while Ishant was recovering from an injury. Apart from him, fast Jaspreet Bumrah and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin have also joined the team.
England (IND vs ENG) is scheduled to play both the opening Tests at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The first Test will be played from February 5 to 9 while the second Test will be played from February 13 to 17. India and England have played nine Test matches so far at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, of which host India have won five, while England have had three wins in their share.
The match played in 1982 between the two teams was a draw. India need to win the four-match Test series with England by a 2–0 margin from February 5 to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship. If he loses one Test, he will have to win the remaining three Tests against England. On the other hand, England will have to beat India 3–0. If England play even a 2–2 draw, they cannot overtake India in the ICC World Test Championship table.
