Pietersen expects the T20I series to be full of runs with pitches that the batsmen prefer. “It looks like we have two teams that have almost enough strength for the T20 series. So this should be fun. With a T20 World Cup on the horizon, this is the perfect opportunity for both sides to get involved in the game to get used to a high level. ” T20 cricket under these conditions, with more players than playing in the IPL.
“If the gates are prepared like they were here (Raipur) for the road safety series, there will be many runs! With Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jason Roy and Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, and everyone else involved, “It would be a surprise if this wasn’t a very high-scoring series,” wrote Pietersen.
Pietersen also criticized England’s rotation policy. England coach Chris Silverwood had defended rotating players in the test series against India and said it could be carried to the ashes against Australia.
“I just can’t understand what’s going on with England’s selection policy. Coach Chris Silverwood came out this week to defend the residual and rotation policies that contributed to the series defeat in India. He might have admitted they got it wrong to have.” They will learn from their mistakes, and I would have accepted that. But it was a shame to come out and say what they did – sending key players home in the middle of the series.
“What is even more nefarious, however, is that Silverwood has been looking at a huge Ashes streak for nine months and says they will be looking at rotating players during that time,” he added.
