Industrial production in Saudi Arabia grows in October to its highest level since April 2020

Data from the General Statistical Authority in Saudi Arabia showed that the industrial production index increased by 7.7% in October 2021 compared to the same month in 2020, reaching its highest level since April 2020.

The authority stated, in a report, today, Thursday, that this is the result of increased production in mining and quarrying by 9.1%, as its weight record in this indicator is 74.5% and the Kingdom increased oil production from 8.9 million barrels per day in October 2020 to 9.7 million barrels per day in October 2021.

The Authority indicated that the industrial production index in the electricity and gas supply sector increased by 4.7% in October 2021 compared to the same month of the previous year, but due to the low relative importance of this sector in the index, which reached 2.9%, did not have a significant impact on the index for industrial production.
