Introducing a New Twitter Feature to Gauge Tweet Popularity

Twitter has announced the launch of a new feature that shows the number of times in which users have added tweets to their bookmarks.

This feature is intended to help gauge the popularity of a tweet, along with other statistics Twitter displays such as the number of retweets and the number of replies to the tweet.

Only on iOS

In context, the company said that as of Thursday, March 16, “you will be in able to see the number of times in which a tweet was bookmarked, within the tweet details page”.

He also noted that the feature is currently only available in the Twitter iOS app, but promised to roll out the same feature for other platforms without specifying a date for it.

I also mentioned on the tech support page for the new feature that the bookmark counter will appear for all tweets without exception, confirming that bookmarks will remain private, meaning users cannot know who has added a specific tweet to their bookmarks , as opposed to the number of likes, mentions and retweets – by clicking on them, you can see the accounts that interacted with the tweet.

Big changes

Interestingly, Twitter has begun making major changes to the service since Elon Musk acquired it and assumed the executive leadership position.

Among the most important things Musk has done has been the launch of the paid service “Twitter Blue”, which provides subscribers with exclusive features that include the ability to edit tweets, a folder for bookmarks, the ability to change icon and the design of the application, a tab to view the most popular articles, a comfortable reading mode, showing fewer ads and the ability to write tweets up to 4,000 characters long, among a host of other features.
