iOS 16.2 Beta 2: Here’s Every New Feature

iOS 16.2 beta 2 and iPadOS 16.2 betas 2 are now available, and they come with changes and new features that are worth noticing. Apple plans to release these updates around the middle of December. Below is a list of what has been added to today’s new beta releases.

Developer beta testers can now use iOS 16.2 beta 2 and iPadOS 16.2 beta 2 right now. We hope to have new updates for public beta testers by the end of the week. Keep in mind that these updates are betas, so they may not work as well as they should or have other bugs. As the beta testing goes on, the new features could also be changed or taken out completely.

The first beta versions of iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 included Apple’s new collaboration app, Freefrom, as well as updates to the Home app and other features. What’s new in the beta 2 releases coming out today? Let’s dive in.

What’s new in iOS 16.2 Beta 2?

First and foremost, iOS 16.2 has a brand new Custom Accessibility Mode that significantly improves accessibility. Although the new user interface is not yet accessible to the public, we have been able to enable it and showcase its redesigned appearance.

  • With iOS 16.2 beta 2, the Medications widget may now be added to the Lock Screen of your iPhone, and you can choose between two different sizes. This follows the introduction of the Sleep widget in the first beta of iOS 16.2.
  • When viewing Live Activities, you may enable an option for “More Frequent Updates.”
  • The play/pause and skip forward/backward buttons in the Music app now have new animations.
  • iPadOS 16.2 beta 2 now lets you turn off the recent apps strip and dock for both the iPad’s screen and the external display separately.
  • Apple has fixed a bug that made it impossible to swipe away from the camera on the Lock Screen of your iPhone.
