All IPL 14 games will be played in neutral locations. The playoffs and the final will be played in Ahmedabad between May 25th and 30th. The Super Kings started their pre-season prep camp with available players in Chepauk from March 8th with an all-time skipper MS Dhoni going ahead.

“The players found the 14-day camp very beneficial. We also had four or five days of open nets,” said KS Viswanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings.

The Super Kings finished the 2020 edition in the UAE with three wins at a trot to conclude their league engagements with six wins in 14 games.

“After the previous season, Dhoni announced that he would arrive in Chennai in March to prepare for the 2021 edition. True to his word, he was here,” added the CEO, welcoming the talisman captain’s dedication and focus.

The Super Kings are one of the most enduring teams in IPL history. They have qualified for the playoffs in 10 of their 11 seasons, reaching the final eight times and lifting the trophy three times.

“We are very confident that the team will do well this season, given the nature of the replacement and the preparations so far,” concluded Viswanathan.

The Super Kings selected six players at the auction in February, led by off-spin bowling all-rounders Moeen Ali and Krishnappa Gowtham, after trading Rajasthan Royals’ top-notch batsman Robin Uthappa.

The franchise company unveiled its new jersey on Wednesday (March 24th) ahead of the new season. It’s the first time the team’s jersey has been redesigned.
