Iranian government approves cryptocurrency mining

Iranian Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin announced the government’s approval of the use and mining of cryptocurrencies.

Reza Fatemi Amin explained: “At the cabinet meeting today, Sunday (yesterday), cryptocurrency mining was approved. This solution existed in previous years and was suspended for some time, and the cryptocurrency mining divisions were not granted licenses to create and operate.”

Fatemi Amin continued: “After analyzing the issue of cryptocurrency in the government, some of its provisions have been approved, and accordingly, we can officially provide the units involved in the creation and operation of licenses.”

And Iran’s Industry, Mining and Trade Minister added: “Over the past few weeks, the country’s first import shipment has been funded with cryptocurrency. From now on, cryptocurrencies can be used for imports.”
