Xbox Live Gold may be living its last moments
For years, every month we have presented to you games that were part of Xbox Live Gold under the name “Games With Gold” and ended up in face Sony’s PlayStation Plus. But with the arrival of the Game Pass and the democratization of major free-to-playthe “offered” games have lost relevance, and on has had the impression for a long time that the whole thing is anachronistic. His days seem numbered, and on can easily imagine that Microsoft will one day or another simplify the offers under the aegis of the Game Pass.
That day could well be September 9, 2023if theon according to a rumor published by the Korean site Naver and relayed by our colleagues from Fandroid. This rumour, which for the moment must be taken with large tweezersindicates that Microsoft is preparing the replacing Xbox Live Gold with Xbox Game Pass Corea new entry-level subscription that finds its place following the price increase of the various current offers. In doing so, the firm would harmonize all of its offersclearing things up a bit and enjoying the aura of Game Pass.
Games With Gold would let their place…to a mini Game Pass
The latter would be offered at $9.99 per month and very much resembles the current offer, with one exception. By subscribing, users would have access to multiplayer, to discounts, but no longer to two or four games per month. To the placethey would find a catalog destined to grow of around 25 “high quality” games. A good way to get Game Pass tried out cheaply and then see if Xbox Game Pass Core converts to Game Pass Console, PC, or Ultimate. The rumor also affords the luxury of revealing a list of gameswhich would be those included in the offer at the time of launch:
All Xbox Live Gold subscriptions would be automatically converted, while games recovered over the years would remain accessible. Nothing would change on the multiplayer side despite the harmonization of offers, car only the Game Pass Ultimate would integrate the Game Pass Core, which gives access to multi servers. Once again, and despite the credibility of the rumor, let’s remain cautious.
Firstly, Microsoft hasn’t announced anything about this yet., the priority being to finalize the takeover of Activision Blizzard King. On the other hand, it is rumored to come from Windows Central, but the embedded link points to a non-existent page and therefore probably deleted. Finally, the offer may only concern a limited number of territories. The launch date mentioned being close, on should quickly be fixed on the subject.
