Israeli official: Moscow has transferred Russian leaders from Syria to Ukraine

Western diplomats and an Israeli military officer revealed Wednesday that Russia recently moved some important forces and equipment, including an air defense system, out of Syria.

The Israeli official told the New York Times that Moscow had also transferred several Russian leaders from Syria to Ukraine.

He also pointed out that the Russian military leadership in Moscow has become less involved in the day-to-day running of operations in Syria, including military coordination with Israel.
