Italy.. Opening of a warehouse of antique statues in Tuscany

The Italian Ministry of Culture said that archaeologists have found more than 20 ancient statues and coins in a thermal spring in Tuscany.

According to the ministry, archaeologists have discovered ancient bronze statues in a thermal spring in the hot springs area in the municipality of San Casciano di Panne in Tuscany.

She adds that most of these statues and metalwork date from the second century BC to the first century AD.

Archaeologists considered the discovery “the largest collection of bronze statues from the Etruscan and Roman periods ever found in ancient Italy, and one of the most important in the entire Mediterranean.”

“This find is unprecedented primarily because so far only terracotta figurines from that period are known,” the ministry said in a statement posted on its official website.

These discovered bronze statues depict deities who were worshiped, as well as organs and parts of the human body that needed the intervention of the gods through hot water.

And he remembered that scientists had found 26 statues and five thousand gold, silver and bronze coins, offerings and objects for ritual worship.
