Jair Bolsonaro: Brazilian Senators Leaving call for assassination attempts against president

the accusations first popped up in a draft report of almost 1,200 pages leaked to CNN by a representative of the Brazilian Senate Pandemic Parliamentary Inquiry (CPI).

The draft report gives in in fact blame the policies of Bolsonaro for the deaths of more than 300,000 Brazilians — half of the nation of Covid-19 death toll, that’s the highest in the world after the United States.

Leave on Tuesday at the end of a meeting, CPI President Senator Omar Aziz said of the allegations: of genocide against Brazilian indigenous communities had to be deleted from the text due to a lack of of agreement.

CPI Vice President Sen. Randolfe Rodrigues said the recommendation: for “mass murder”cost would also drop and replace with cost of “epidemic die the result was” in deathCNN Brazil reported.

Bolsonaro will still have to answer accusations of crimes against humanity, incentive to commit crimes and “charlatanism” over his treatment of the pandemic.

The final document is expected to be officially presented in the Brazilian Senate on Wednesday and voted on next week.

Bolsonaros office did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment. The president, who is up for re-election next year, has previously criticized the investigation into its pandemic approach as politically motivated.

In July, Bolsonaro accused the CPIA of ignoring other accusations of corruption in all of Brazil to focus on he and his government.

“She want to accuse me of genocide. Tell me now in which country people not dead? This CPI is not credible,” Bolsonaro said.

He also then said he was “sorry about the” dead, but people who were healthy had little chance of dying.”

Bolsonaro has long downplayed gravity of the virus, and argued for the need prioritize Brazil’s economic health. He tested positive for COVID-19 in 2020.
