In just 10 days time, Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as James Bond hits UK cinemas in No Time To Die. The new 007 movie marks the end of the 53-year-old’s record 15 years in the role. But there is a certain aspect of making Bond movies that Craig has admitted he’s a “complete pain in the a***” about.
Craig made the reveal in Episode 5 of the official James Bond podcast called Cars, Gadgets, Costume: The Craft of Bond.
Speaking with film critic James King, the 007 star said he’s a perfectionist when it comes to what he wears in the role.
Calling No Time To Die costume designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb “a genius”, Craig said: “I’m really, really particular about it. Probably a complete pain in the a***.”
“It has to look like he doesn’t care, but it has to be like everything’s really, really thought out. It has to be absolutely to the [tee].”

Craig’s Bond suits and boots were made by Tom Ford, which he says fit him well.
While on his combat gear for infiltrating Safin’s lair, as seen in the trailer and original teaser posters, apparently, the trousers took quite a while to make.
The 53-year-old said: “It’s something to the special forces, but the trousers alone took about three months of design.
“And Suttirat wanted to get them exactly right, that’s what we do.”

When asked what specifically needed to be exactly right, Craig joked: “My a*** has to look good in them!”
Before adding: “No, I want every frame of the movie to be of interest. So the clothes that I’m wearing, they have to be of interest.
“So the sets are amazing, the cars are amazing, the locations are amazing and the clothes are amazing.
“It’s like, everything has to be and that’s why we have an amazing team in the costume department.”

Craig continued: “A lot of the clothes are made, plus if I have a suit that’s in an action sequence I need 20 or 25 of them. Because each one has to be broken down. I start the scene in a nice pristine suit.
“I get shot and then I get blown up. So we have to have each stage of the suit and they all have to work.”
Daniel Craig’s previous four Bond movies are Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.
