Ursula Andress famously played Honey Ryder in Dr No, before portraying Vesper Lynd in James Bond spoof Casino Royale. But did you know there was another official Bond girl to feature in that movie too? Caroline Munro is best-known for playing Naomi opposite Roger Moore in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me, but a decade previously she made her 007 debut.
Aged just 16 at the time, the Bond girl features in 1967’s unofficial Casino Royale as a gun-toting guard under the command of Woody Allen’s Dr Noah.
Speaking exclusively with Express.co.uk, the 72-year-old shared incredible memories of her first time as a Bond girl.
Munro said: “I can’t really say it was a part. I was an extra! But I was so delighted.
“I was doing a lot of modelling at the time and I think one of the casting people came.”

Caroline Munro is proud to be called a “Bond girl”
Munro continued: “Basically lots of the girls from the agency were chosen when we had to wear the sort of Paco Rabanne guard girl costumes which were very cool at the time.
“Paco Rabanne was a huge, huge designer, so we got to wear the clothes. I got to take part in it but the main thing was I got watch Woody Allen and David Niven work.
“I was so lucky. I can’t remember how many directors there were but we had Val Guest, he was our director on our section of the film. I think we had about five directors in total.”
The Bond spoof, which also starred Peter Sellers, saw Niven’s older Sir James Bond forced out of retirement to investigate the death of spies, with the help of six other agents pretending to be him.

Munro remembered: “I was only very young. I was 16. And I asked the director if I could sit on the side of the set and watch David and Woody.
“All the other girls went off to see the boys in The Dirty Dozen because they were shooting The Dirty Dozen at the same place.
“I said to Val, ‘Can I just watch them working?’ And he said, ‘Yes, just sit quietly and watch these maestros.’”
The 72-year-old said she felt incredibly lucky to have been chosen to be a tiny cog in a great big wheel of a film.”

Munro added: “I think we were all on it for about four weeks as extras, so it was great. What a lovely experience.
“They don’t exist anymore but it was shot out at MGM studios out in Elstree, so it was really an amazing experience for me.
“I’d never really been on anything like that before. That was incredible.”
